RideSquad is a group-ride app for bikers, made by Shreyansh ("we"). This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and how you can delete it. Contact: ridesquad.support@gmail.com.
What we collect
Account: your email address and password (the password is stored encrypted and we cannot read it).
Profile: your display name, and optionally your bike, phone number, and an emergency contact's name and phone number.
Location: your precise location, speed and heading, only while you are sharing your location in an active ride. This includes when the app is in the background or the screen is locked, so your group can see you while you ride. Sharing stops when you pause it, leave the ride, or the ride ends.
Ride data: rides you create or join, their routes and stops, check-ins at stops, distance ridden, and alerts or messages you send to your group (such as SOS, which includes your location).
Notifications: a push token for your device, so the app can alert you when a rider in your group needs help.
How we use it
To show you and your ride group each other's positions, routes and alerts.
To send ride alerts as notifications, and, if you have no signal during an emergency, to prepare an SMS to your group and emergency contact (you choose whether to send it).
To show your ride history and stats.
Your phone number and emergency contact are only visible to riders in rides you have joined. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use it for tracking outside the app.
Who processes the data
Supabase stores the app's database and handles sign-in.
Expo and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging deliver push notifications.
OpenRouteService receives the stop locations of a ride to calculate the route and to search for places.
OpenFreeMap serves the map images; like any website, it sees your device's IP address.
How long we keep it
We keep your data until you delete your account or remove rides from your history. Only your latest position in each ride is stored; it is not a continuous track.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account at any time in the app under Profile → Delete account. This permanently deletes your profile, positions, check-ins, notification tokens and ride memberships, and rides you created that have not started. Finished rides you took part in stay for the other riders, without your name. If you no longer have the app, see how to request deletion.
Children
RideSquad is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
